Preparation Technology and Process Progress of High-Performance Polyacrylamide Powder1

Abstract: As a linear water-soluble polymer, the preparation process of Polyacrylamide (PAM) powder directly determines its molecular weight, solubility, and application performance. This article aims to explore the preparation technology of ultra-high molecular weight and fast-dissolving PAM dry powder, analyze the key control points of the polymerization process, and provide a reference for technical personnel in related fields.

I. Introduction

Polyacrylamide powder is polymerized from acrylamide monomers. Due to the large number of active amide groups on its molecular chain, it endows the product with excellent flocculation, viscosity-increasing, and adsorption properties. As the requirements for tertiary oil recovery and wastewater treatment become increasingly stringent, higher demands are placed on the molecular weight, temperature/salt resistance, and dissolution rate of PAM powder.
